Not the Kind of PR You’re Thinking Of

2009 April 17

Now, before viewing this, allow me to explain something: proportional representation does not and cannot work due to a couple of minor issues: it is fucking complicated, and allows minority parties a chance to have a seat in government. And I mean any party, even extremist ones.

Such as the Nazis.

Now… comparisons of Nazism, Fascism, and Hitler have been made by, well, a huge international group of people that consumes almost the entire earth, a kind of people called… idiots. Cons have used it (?), liberals have used it, socialists have used it, reds have used it (that and bourgeois) and extremists such as Toronto Councillor Tom Ford have used it, describing people who despised him during a hockey game as “communist nazis” (wtf). It’s overused. No one knows what it means anymore because adults are not acting like adults. No one is acting their age, except for kids who are beyond their age, making them potential intellectual (as long as legal hell and drugs doesn’t get to them first, combined with immorality). However… this is citing history.

See, royalists always use this point in history as an excuse for Canada not to become a republic, an excuse so appalingly plaintive it makes impotence seem like an overstatement. Uh… however, it was flaws in the constitution that allowed the likes of the Psychopathic God to seize control. See, you have to educate yourselves about history, preferrably with books dating before mid-2001. Nowadays, anyone can write a book. Anyone. Even populist demagogues, idiots, psychos, you have it. Civilization is dying in the aftermath of the disasterous murder of America thanks to Bush, who if I may remind you and countless others that he stole both elections, and who has pre-White-House driven every other business and sports team that he owned or ran out of business.

Anyways… due to several severe constitutional flaws in the Weimar Constitution, which was drafted after the 1919 German Revolution, such as, for example:

  • the President having exraordinary executive powers, including the power to take all and any necessary steps to ensure and secure public order and national security, which, though meant as an emergency clause, was invoked more than once pre-1933.
  • the successor of the President should there be a resignation or death was the Chancellor of Germany. Hitler took advantage of this to establish the Third Reich.
  • proportional representation; which allowed minority parties into the foray, including the communists and the Nazis, two of the three most powerful political parties (including… the Conservatives) in Germany at the time who, like monarchists today, took advantage of the general contempt of the people for the Republic and of the humiliation and misery of the Versailles Treaty.

Understand, people, that despite the royalist attempts to compair republicanism with Nazism, they don’t understand what replaced the Third Reich… or what Germany is today.

I worry for British Colombia.
